Sharon's presentation about Finley Finds Her Way was wonderful! She presented to Kinder, 1st, and 2nd graders at my school and all of the students especially loved all the animals that were in the story. Sharon's read aloud was energetic and fun, and she did a great job of adding in short little facts about the animals that the kids found fascinating. The kids also enjoyed learning about her writing and publishing process and were blown away that Ashleigh Heyns, the illustrator of Finley Finds Her Way, lives in Zimbabwe. Sharon does a great job of explaining the complicated process of publishing in a way that is accessible and engaging for the kids...a great experience for all of our students who aspire to publish their own writing one day!

It was such a great experience having Sharon visit our campus and share her book Finley Finds Her Way with our students. The students were so engaged with her storytelling, and she does a great job weaving in some information about animal adaptations as well. There is also a great lesson in the book about the search to find your path in life, which led to great discussions with our students. Sharon was an absolute joy, Finley was a fun character to be introduced to, and we are definitely looking forward to reading her new book The Grumpus Among Us

We were thrilled to welcome Sharon Miller, a talented local author from San Antonio, to Mary Lou Fisher Elementary for a special storytelling event. The students were captivated by her engaging presentation and absolutely loved her heartwarming story, Finley Finds Her Way.

Ms. Miller's storytelling brought Finley’s journey to life, inspiring our students to embrace themes of resilience, self-discovery, and friendship. Her visit not only celebrated the joy of reading but also showcased the power of local authors to connect with young audiences in meaningful ways.

We are incredibly grateful to Sharon Miller for sharing her time, talent, and story with our school community. Her visit left a lasting impression, and we look forward to welcoming her back in the future!
